I am sure this has been covered somewhere in here, but I couldn't find it...
Anyway, I am a CO in FL and keep hearing from a few of the other CO's that we are covered under HR 218. We meet all of the requirements, as far as I understand them, except Statutory Arrest Powers. I am employed by a County and not a private company, we are Sworn and under our policy allowed to carry concealed in FL on our badges and ID, but if there are charges on a 1015 the county sheriff has to come out and make the "arrest". To me, it seems that I/we would not be covered. So, I come here for the wisdom of ARFCOM. |

You must have statutory powers of arrest to qualify for HR218. http://www.fop.net/legislative/issues/hr218/hr218faq.pdf |
