guns that you purchased do you deduct on taxes each year?

I'm a dept and academy adjunct firearms instructor.  plus I use my own when teaching firearms as an Army Reservist (Small Arms Master Gunner).

thanks in advance for your replies.

yeah, I thought so, but seem to recall someone saying one handgun, one rifle maybe.

I was putting my receipts together and found an extra "possible" deduction in the form of an M1A

I guess I was mostly being hopeful when I started this thread.

thanks, mv

I don't think there is a magic number.
You're rquired to maintain firearms proficiency as a condition of employment.
You use different firearms to accomplish this as each weapon has a different manual of arms.
A .22 bolt action rifle or a 1911 both help you maintain and hone those marksmanship fundamentals.
