Good for him serving up a nice tall glass of "shut the fuck up" to the media. Hopefully he'll get some things changed for the better.

ill bet my left nut that this guy knew the fallen officer personally and or was close with this officer.

but yeah, he took the gloves off. It takes alot of courage or stupidity or something to go after a judge/judges like that.

also, if hes the chief then i say good for him for standing up for his guys. If he's not the cheif and he is speaking for the whole department and their demeanor, then the whole speach might not go over so well.

If i was the media relations officer at that dept. i could imagine the cheif calling me in and asking me who gave their permission for me to call the suspect names and berate judges and media organizations like that.

Sad to say, but in my 14 years as a LEO "Quality Supervision" is an oxymoron more often than not.  It's always refreshing to run across a good one.
