Hey fellas... I need some help...

I had the bright idea to ask if my crew could get a hold of some issued lights for our colt 11.5inch commandos. After it got approved, my boss assigned me to find a light for us by the morning. He didn't give me a price range, but I'm thinking somewhere in the $250 range would work out for the amount we have to purchase.

I need a dedicated light that would be useful in an urban tactical situation. my biggest issue is it's going to have to fit on the weapon while it's in a car mounted rack. I currently have an Insight Javelin on my gun and it's kind of a pain to get in and out of the rack without a little finesse. we use santa cruz gunlocks mounted in Ford CVPIs

Here's an example of mine. (and sorry about the shitty pics, I took these on my phone because i don't have access to anything else at the moment)

from the bottom of the butt plate receiver to the bottom of the locking arm is 22.5 inches. The locking mechanism is 3 inches

from the butt of the rifle to the back side of my picatinny is 16 inches and to the front is 22.25 inches with the stock fully retracted. those measurements are 19.25" and 25.25 inches respectively with the stock fully extended.

I know this is a metric shit ton of info, but I'm trying to give anything to help my specific needs. THANKS in advance and if you need anymore info, feel free to ask.

thanks again guys

If I'm seeing this right, as your looking at that last pic the lock is hinged on the left (passenger) side of the vehicle?  So it flips away from where your light is now?

Looks like a dual rack, does the shotgun slot have to be usable to?

How about if you mount an X200 or X300 on there?

That's correct. I had to mount my light on the left side of the gun because the hinge is on the right (it's actually the left if you're looking at it). it is a dual rack, but I took my shotgun out for photo purposes.

the X200 or 300 is an option, and it's kind of in the lead right now because of the size and portability

Do all your rifles have rails and VFGs? If not and you don't mind the exrtra money, I think you can get Surefire M500A at a discounted price of around $350 directly from SF.

Edit: Does the rack wrap all the way around the handguards? With the M500, it would probably be just hung there on the clamp w/o having the butt touch the bottom.

no, they come bone stock with the exception of a tritium front post. anything we add has to be out of our own pocket and we can't do anything that would normally require a gunsmith.

my rail is mounted to a rail that is bolted to the bottom of the foregrip.
