Anyone in South-West Florida, Tampa Bay, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota area:

Can you please post generic policies your agency has in place for what gun racks you can carry your ARs in.

I'm trying to get our policy changed to allow the rifle to be carried in the passenger compartment versus the trunk.

I'm looking at the Pro-Gard, Big Sky and Tuf-Loc series racks to submit to our Firearms Review Board for consideration.

Thanks in advance

I'm more in central Florida.  We don't have a written policy on mounts.  We can carry the AR in the car if we provide the weapon and qualify with it.  As far as mounts go you can purchase your own and fleet maint. will install it for you.  Several of our guys have gone this route.

that looks like it will be more accomodating.

i was actually looking for a barrel locking system versus the forearm locks, as my weapon, and many of my co-workers have weapon lights and vertical foregrips.

thanks very much for your input.

Do not buy a Tuf Loc rack. We have them at work and although they are rugged, they have next to no padding.
That means your rifle will be rattling around metal on metal. 12 hours of that and you'll be ready to through your rifle in the ocean.
