I'm looking all over but can't find anything on thier LE prices. Does that weapon have to be department owned to qualify? Or could I buy one myself to be used on the job? Anyone able to find a link I can't find anything on the Colt website.

Not sure about the pricing right now.  I do know that Colt is backlogged and their production of weapons are currently heading into the sandbox.  I don't believe that they are putting any of the rifles into LE or the civilian market right now, but this may have recently changed but I don't think so.

A weapon does not necessarily need to be owned by the department to be used as a duty or off duty weapon.  Your department will dictate that however, so you should be aware of your departments policy on this.  Our department has an appoved list of weapons, that officers can purchase and use for on or off duty use.  Your department, if it is smart, will have proper, documented training for any weapons allowed for on or off duty use.  This is not limited to just the weapon but should also include holsters, or other accessories and shooting techniques and identification of the officer in off duty situations.  Much is dependant on departments and state or local laws.
