I'm looking at getting some M16's for my department through the 1033 program. I know some people on this board have done it before but I can't find the thread. For anyone who has done this before, how tough was it to get the rifles and in what condition were they. Thanks |

Their working on getting some for my Dept. They sent in the letter...the program sent back a letter saying congratulations you're getting ( Don't quote me but 16 M-16's and 3 M-14's I think is what it was) Which is exactly what they asked for and enough to put a -16 in every car. |
| I spoke with the state coordinator and she said M16's, M14's and 1911's are available. I'm mostly wondering what condition the M16's were. I think there was a post earlier that I can no longer find where the M16's were either unissued or rebuilt to like new condition. |

The are not new, but rifles that have been re-barreled. I completed all the work required by the 1033, got approved into the program......handed the paper work to the black hole, I mean chiefs' office.........and thats the last I've ever seen of it. Hope you have better luck. |
Out of 7 total rifles, only one was a rebuild. The rest were never fired. The rebuild is a Harrington & Richardson (H&R) and shoots the best group of the bunch, go figure ! (It's also in my car as we speak !) |

I got us 9 total, all M16A1's, only test fired. Dry as a bone, but not a scratch or anything wrong with them, brand new. Art in KY Edit to add: If you, or anyone here need the sample letter to describe needs, justification, etc, email me late next week. 3 other KY agencies used my stuff, no problems. I don't know if your states paper work is the same though. |
