Greetings,

Can anyone recommend web sources to find LEO job openings? I have found a few web sites that seem to have current openings such as 911jobforums.com . Are there any other recommended sites?

Thank you.

Try here
Go to the "agency" tab and pick which state you are interested in.  A good list of depts in the state will show up.  Then click on the individual dept and look for an employment link on their web site.

Gewehr3, may I offer some unsolicited advice?  I know you were looking for weblinks, but have you considered checking in with some of the major universities in and around your home?

I used to work in my department's recruiting office for a number of years (I didn't do the recruiting, I did the investigating of applicants...); our recruiters would go to job fairs at the universities throughout the state to drum up some business.  They were there at the job fairs with all of the other major PDs competing for the best applicants.  One of my old partners landed a job with a large PD by going to a job fair...now he's going to retire with them.

It's a good way to size up a department you're interested in and talk to someone in the flesh.  You can pick up more details during a face-to-face and get all of your questions answered.  Good impressions make lasting impressions...good luck!

Cjklekar,

That is a very good idea. I hadn't considered that approach.

Thanks again.

USAJobs - For Federal LEO Jobs.

Check your local city/county/state homepage for local/County/state LEO Jobs.

I was hired by the DOJ - FBOP thanks to USAJobs (and they are constantly hiring, BTW).

Good luck.

If you are looking for a job as a metro police officer,  take a look at the city you would like to work at.   Look at the city's website.    They usually have a jobs section.

Same goes if you want to do sherriff patrol.
