NATIONAL POLICE MEMORIAL > Brothers Of The Shield

I was just wondering if anyone on the board is heading to the National Police Memorial in DC between the 13th & 15th?

If so maybe we could get together at the Channel Pub or Murphy's in Old Town ( or any other suggest establishment) to raise a glass to our departed brothers and sisters.

I went there several years ago. I have a friend that goes every year. Her son is on the wall along with a deputy/supervisor from a department I was with before.

I am there every year attempting to throw my liver into total meltdown!

I live local, and we will have a hotel, as well, so email for particulars and contact info.

I'm bumping this to the top. Police week is starting this weekend

Gentlemen ( and ladies, if there are any sisters here) if you go to police week, it's something you'll never regret. I go every year. For me, it's first and foremost, to pay tribute to our fallen and their survivors. Second, every year I walk through the memorial with the guys I work with, and/or for that matter with complete strangers from departments across the country , or my son, it reaffirms my faith in the brotherhood and the level of dedication that American law enforcement has.

I will be there. I try to make it every year. Kelly's (sp?) is usually a good time, you meet a lot of different people there.

My chief and one of our lieutenants is flying out for the memorial. They had a friend, Missouri State Trooper, who was killed this past year.
