"He wasn't on his meds"

Cry me a f*ckin' river.

Unmedicated with bizarre actions = out of control.

Suicide by cop. Sorry the AM's  have gotta live with that, but I say good shoot.

That scenario played out exactly as it should have.  I only wish the media would cover it more to make sure that every dirtbag terrorist wannabe in this country learns what his fate will be if he decides to try anything stupid.  That is the only way to deter their behavior.  The terrorists (I'm not saying the guy who was shot was a terrorist) who would attempt to blow up or hijack an airplane need to see that they will not succeed in delivering a big body count.  They will only succeed in being gunned down.

I'm glad the media isn't putting a bad spin on it (at least not here) and I hope the Air Marshalls are dealing with it ok.  God Bless em.

It fucking makes me want to puke that this is being portrayed as a "Unfortunate Incident"

Fuck that.  If he had a bomb and they hadn't capped him, liberal pricks would be screaming that the air marshalls didn't do their job.

Lesson learned.  Act like a fool, get treated like a fool

Its a good shoot.  Sorry they have to live with that, but nonetheless it was a good shoot.  I was watching the Today show this morning.  Katie Couric was talking with a former Air Marshall and was asking about why they shoot to kill instead of shooting to wound.  And that maybe they should receive extra training so this would be possible in the future.

The AM handled it very well.  We shoot to stop the threat!!

Funny how as soon as Katie and The Today show get done bashing the AM's they just happen to follow that story with the one on the San Francisco scandal.  Gotta love our liberal media who always take the bad guys side first before the hero's side.

I stopped in at a high school basketball game last night while on patrol, and the high school principal was talking to me about the incident and asked me the same question, why dont you shoot to wound, why do you want to kill them.  I tried to explain to him why, but it was like talking to a wall.

The media always tries to put a great twist on stories, but if they make the $$$ they dont care!

Need to take them to the range and have them try headshots at 10 , 15, and 20 yards on static targets.  Then tell them to do the same on movers.    Too much hollywood influence.

fucking wacko! now you are gonna need a doctor's note saying you are sane to fly, any jackass with a mental ilness can buy a $99 special fare, what makes people think about mentioning the word bomb or hijack nonchalantly and then be stupid enough to think you will be taken lightly and that anyone on board the aircraft will take it lightly, what worries me if I see the bastard running towards the cockpit I will stick my foot out or stop the bastard and I might be the one who ends up shot and the mentally ill wacko walks. fucking wacko

Shoot to wound? WTF, women are so friggin naive, I am sure if that was her baby someone was trying to kidnap ands she hadda gun she would probably empty out a couple clips and made sure everyone in the immidiate area was dead....Who wants to kill anybody? You have a job to do, how would the AM know that this guy's wife screaming "he did not take his medication" was a distraction? What the fuck was in his bag? How would you know? Didn't a couple weeks ago a Colombian airliner had a shootout on board? the AM's hadda have intel on that. Someone snuck a gun on board, is it not possible that someone could sneak a bomb aboard? All this does is make life miserable for decent pax. I am a frequent traveler and thank god nothing has happened....

+1, 100%!

I said something similar in another thread here.

To quote myself:

Hindsight is always 20/20.

Some of the news "reporters" were making comments about the shooting as if it was not necessary cause the guy was "mentally ill" and there was nothing found.

[rant]

I call BULLSHIT! It was ABSOLUTELY necessary.

IF you act like a terrorist...expect to get treated like one.

IF you say you have bomb on a plane, expect the cops to pull guns on you.

IF you run away, expect to be chased.

IF you reach into a bag or pocket when confronted, expect to be shot.

and unfortunately....

IF you are on a plane and this happens, expect to be detained, questioned, and supervised until you're cleared. "Innocent until proven guilty" is a courtroom right, not a "crime scene" priviledge.

With that said, had the guy NOT been treated the way he was, when he was, and it had been a bomb or other terrorist attack... the libtards would be going off 100X worse than they are now.

But, the real bad guys watch our TV too....and I'll bet dollars to donuts that the incident was not overlooked by the groups who WOULD like to pull off a plane hijacking or other attack.

If I walked into the bank with my finger under my shirt like it was a gun, I'd would expect to be treated like a robber.  If a 13 year old kid did the same, I'd want the same to happen to him, no matter what "condition" they were in.

I support that Marshall 100%, no questions ask.

You have to assume the worst when it comes to a risk of injury to others. The more severe the potential injury the higher the response level should be. If a lethal threat is assumed, a lethal response is not only appropriate but the only REASONABLE thing to do.

Media people are no better than Professors when it comes to their opinions. They've never experienced anything outside of other people's theories.

Besides, I'd rather watch a steamy bucket of shit than Katie. The swarm of flies are more dramatic anyway. Of course if she would do the show naked, maybe I'd watch.

Katie is a seditious bitch who should have been fired for some of the crap she spewed when OIF first started.  She should be shot on general principle for being such a whiney piece of shit.  I can't stand her in case you couldn't tell.
