I'm currently carrying a Sig P220 with a Surefire Nitrolon.  It goes in the Safariland 6280 on patrol and the Safariland 6004 on tactical callouts.  I want to upgrade to the P220R and an X200.

Does Safariland make holsters for my desired combination yet?  I have checked their website and can't seem to make heads or tails of it.  I have also emailed, but as yet have not gotten a reply.

Anyone here carrying the P220R with the X200?  If so, what are you carrying it in?

Thanks in advance.

according to Safariland's will fit list for pistols with light - the only holsters they make for the 220R are for the ITI M3/M6, or P004 (whatever that is)

I really wish more manufacturers made duty holsters for pistols with lights. It's seems unless you carry a Glock and an M3, you're SOL. I have an HK USP40 that I want to carry with a Surefire Nitrolon P115C. My Dept's SOP requires a threat lvl. III. I've searched high and low and cannot find one. I guess that's my curse for using more exotic gear.

What I'm probably going to do is get a Blade-tech duty holster with light, take off the lvl II thumb break and put the hood from a Safariland 6280 with the little adapter switch that makes it a level III, and just see if I get any flak for having a kydex instead of basketweave.

Blade Tech offers holsters for the Sig P220 ST with X200. I don't know what the difference is between the P220ST and the P220R is, but they also do custom work. So if you don't mind a kydex holster, give them a call.

Yes they do, and I carry the same combo for tactical stuff. It has been out since about May, and we had some on order, but due to internal admin CFs, they aren't here yet.

I am currently using a modified 6004 for the P220 and an SF 3V Classic (our old combo) for the tactical stuff. I hand cut a spacer from plastic and inserted it near the front of the holster with a longer scew and it works fine. I think that this set up would be a real monster size-wise for duty use, but it works fine for tactical.

One note of caution: the X200 rails like to loosen up under the recoil of a .45, so make sure that you loc-tite the screws down pretty heavily.

I recently switched from a Sig 220 to a Sig 220R with a X200.  I went through CSGunworks and had the Safariland 6004 holster in about 3 weeks.  They had some of the best prices around.

Wombat...One of the guys I work with carries a USP w/M6 light/laser in a Bladetech.  That's my fallback plan if Safariland doesn't work out.

Natez...The 220/Nitrolon in the 6280 is a real monster for duty use.  That is what is actually driving the desire to upgrade (the X200 being so much smaller)

Krav...Are you carrying the 220R/X200 combo for duty of just tactical work?  And do you have contact info for CSGunworks?

Thanks to all again.

I  used to carry a P220R with an X200 in a Safariland 6280.  Because the 6280 was actually for the Streamlight M3, it didn't quite fit.  Because the X200 is just a hair longer than the M3, the gun sat a bit higher in the holster.  I had trouble disengaging the hood at times because it would catch on the hammer.  I just ended up ditching the X200 and going to the M3.

While I loved the X200 and feel that it is far superior to the M3, it got too loose under recoil.  It did not matter how much loctite I used because it would always shake itself loose.  My duty load being the super hot Federal HST 230gr +P didn't help either.

You'd probably be better off with a Bladetech holster like everyone else is recommending.

PS - Don't hold your breath waiting for Safariland to write you back.
