I applied for one of the many Intelligence Analysts positions with the FBI based in Indy. The job description said that the applications would be processed by 10-01-04. What does processed mean? How much longer should I wait before I right this one off as a loser? Thanks |

I applied for one of the surveillence specialist positions about a year ago. I even received an email saying that my applications was accepted. It's been 7 months since I got the email, and I've yet to hear anything. Either they're really slow, or they just have so many applicants they can be very choosey. Good luck. |
To my knowledge, the field offices don't have anything to do with the hiring, initially. You might want to get a number for their human resources department, as I believe they would be the ones who process the applications. |

The contact points for vitually all of those offices were DC. I would expect the HQ to have a MASSIVE pile of applications given the number of announcements they had. I talked to a couple IA's and was told the hiring process is typically 5-9 months from announcement close to start date (depends on the complexity of the background check once they pick a person). I wouldn't get in a hurry. My understanding is they are processing lots of apps, and hiring lots of people, without comitting a huge staff to it. Recruiting/hiring is a LOT of work. shooter |
