hey folks, I'm not LEO ( in process), but I do security/theft investigations for my company.
Is there a quick way to gather  more acurate ballpark on a person's weight? it seems a lot of my BOLOs read the same weight wise if they are "average" weight and not either super methman skinny or lard ass fat.
my descriptions are based on their relative height if reviewing nothing but a digital replay or still photo.
I'm terrible with weight guestimates.
just going off my own ht/ weight as a yardstick, but I'm trying to get better at i.d.'ing and reporting.
if you have any tricks, I'm all ears. thanks.

Body mass index chart may help .

Also start asking anyone you come into contact with their height and weight with the usual questions and you can build a baseline from that.

This is a good idea. Most of the time we put over build over weight. Thin, heavy, muscular, fat. Weight can not always be a guideline. I'd rather hear "6 foot male, muscular build with blue hoodie"  than focusing on how much he weighs.

It's a guess anyways.  Or if you happen across their ID card it may be there.
