Does anyone know if the general public can purchase the Ford Police Interceptors (Taurus and Explorer)?  If so, how?  Is it similar to buying a fleet vehicle?

I have an answer from another site.  It doesn't look like they are on sale to the general public unless it is sold of by a department second hand.

This is correct from what I have been told while purchasing new vehicles for our department.

I was thinking new and Taurus AWD.  It does look like they have some low mile models on Ebay motors.

Why would you want a plain jane, rubber floored grandma car?  Why not just get a regular model?

I drive a Crown Vic and people love to tell me how "Souped Up" they think it is.  It's not.  It's a big grandma car with a 4.6 engine.
