Hey folks, I need a recommendation for a new duty belt light holster. I have a leather bianchi one now that was issued, but I want kydex.  The light is a surefire 6px. It needs to be simple but secure as always. Will be mounted at 11:00 if that influences your decision.
I also want to look at a chest rig.  A guy at work has an old blackwater chest rig. it is light, simple, and compact which is exactly what I need. only problem is they are not made anymore (one recently sold on the EE), so I need another option. It will ride with my gear bag and will be tossed on if the need arises.  I want room for 3-4 AR mags, 2 pistol mags and a compact CLS kit/blowout kit with a tourniquet. Right now I have a shoulder bandolier deal that holds 6 ar mags.

I use the 6PX. I use the surefire V85 holster designed for these lights. I keep mine canted at a 45* angle at my 1230 position. It's easy to grab with either hand and has a slot for spare batteries. You can adjust the position to any rotational position. It's also very obvious if its turned on accidentally. It's made out of a pretty durable plastic, but not kydex.

For chest rigs, have you looked at Tactical Tailor MAV 2 piece?  If you get it, be sure to get the X Harness with it.  If you supply them with a copy of your credentials, you will be given a small discount.  I have this setup and LOVE it.

Get a holster designed specifically for your light like what JLR2013 said, the universal ones can sometimes be disappointing.  When you try to make something that works for everything, you invariably have to make compromises.

For your chest rig I would get something modular, a blank chest rig and buy your own pouches.  Get what you want and put them where you want.  I have a Condor compact plate carrier with level IV plates in it.  I'm sure someone will trash talk Condor but I have never had a problem and I've deployed it several times in the field.

Don't let anyone tell you "this is the right way to do this"  there is no right way, only what works best for you.

Are you running plates with or in that "chest rig"?

If you're talking about Agg Assault/Homicide in progress, then the ability to don it quickly is a consideration.  If you're 99% likely to have a minute to rig up, then your selection is much larger.

SKD's Systema system has a very nice velcro cummerbund option.  Fast, compact, configurable.  Works with plates integrated or not.  Great option for domestic LE or low profile mission.

Most recent manufacture rigs seem to be adjustable to clear a duty belt draw for pistol or less lethal.

My old rig was ceramic plates in an HSGI Weesatch.  Only used fo' real only twice, and one of those times I Learned to Hate The Buckle.  I'm done with strappy rigs, Fastex buckles, RackMINUS, etc. for right-damn-now applications.  Give me big, fixed velcro waist straps to slap on and GO.

For traditional rigs with buckles... man I've been lusting over the Mayflower UW Gen IV.  That sucker is just about standalone.  Not too many rifle/pistol mag pouches built in, GP pouches in great size and location for TCCC, area denial and other goodies.  Sexy.

Right now, no plates with the rig. I want to be able to don and go like you said, "right-damn-now".  That mayflower rig is badass, but may be more than I need/more than I can afford
thanks for the help guys

Just jogged my memory on the light holster.  I used to carry a JetBeam M1X on my duty belt, 1" barrel.  It fit nicely into an ASP roto holster.  The leaf spring in the holster kept it from rattling, I added rubber strip w/E6000 to help retention even more.  The roto feature was cool for comfort with some vehicle seats.
