its a forge code marking used by the manufacturer of that particular part. does the left side of the fsb have the letter "F" stamped on it around the area of the gas tube pin? if it does then this fsb was made for a m4/flat top style upper reciever. if there is no "F" then it was designated as an a2 upper carry handle compatable fsb.

Thanks for the reply, it does not have the F mark on the left side, but its a LMT and I'm told they are the only ones who do not F stamp, but are up to height. I was just curious what the mark on the right side was, thanks!!
