Lol why do you seek us out and give us tickets for going 5-7 over when everybody else is passing us on the feeeway What agency is on the side? What series G plate? Yeah. Curious as I don't recall ever hearing of a FedLEO issuing a traffic citation unless it was on Federal Property. -SleeperShooter |

I think the OP is wondering why he or she always gets stopped when operating a G-ride.
My answer is...because you are probably driving like a moron and deserve it. I spent 8 years on patrol...never once saw a federal vehicle operator do anything stupid. Frankly, I only had a handful of them come through my jurisdiction. I have been a fed for six years now, have spent hundreds of hours riding in or driving federal vehicles, and only once witnessed being stopped. It was in Dallas and was due to the operator running a stop sign that was not in a place anyone would have expected it (top of an on ramp, merging onto a major thoroughfare). The DPD officer had a chuckle at our expense (we were all Yankees who had never been in the city before) and told us to be more careful. ETA: My point is, the one time we were stopped, we admitted we were not familiar with the area, the driver was courteous and respectful, there was no puffing out of the chest or talking down to the officer, it was a genial and polite encounter, but I imagine the outcome would have been different if we had acted like we thought we were special. |

When I've met officers of other agencies, I've always behaved this way. We always seem to get along quite well and go on about our days. Anyway, this is the way I treat everyone I meet unless they give me a reason to behave otherwise. |

If you are constantly being stopped, it's you, not them. Common denominator. Just yesterday I stopped a G-ride. We were working a home invasion/burglary gone wrong with shots fired and the homeowner took two in the gut. We were driving backroads looking for a late model white 4 door sedan occupied by 1 b/m and 1 w/m. Now....we're out in BFE and see a matching vehicle drive by at Mach III. I spin, chase it down and bring the driver/sole occupant out with a half assed felony stop. It was then I realized it was G-tagged and the driver had a high and tight and wearing a Go Army polo. Poor guy was a recruiter and headed to meet with a potential recruit. He acted kinda shitty until he saw the 10in AR hanging around my neck. We quickly explained the issue and he was GTG. |

Never got pulled over driving a vehicle with federal plates.
But one time I was speeding in one and got clocked by a local deputy. Who promptly called my office. And informed my Gunnery Sergeant of the error of my ways. Which in turn made me very uncomfortable when I got back. I would have preferred a ticket to the ass-chewing.
I would highly suggest not breaking the law in a vehicle that doesn't belong to you, especially if it belongs to your employing agency/branch. |

If you get my income taxes to pay for your car and gas, don't drive it like it's stolen ![]() But, think about how much more they're getting done in a day, getting to their destinations quicker! They're making the most of their salaries that we're paying. Efficiency in government!

That is true, I'm glad fed.gov employees can drive to the office.... and grocery, take their kids to school, and drive across the country on vacation in a taxpayer funded car without paying for their own gas.
They can't! The rule acorss the government is that: ––No passenegers unless related to business.....aka another GOV employee......recruiter trasnaporting a recruit to office or for processing.......perp.....witness....victim......etc..... ––No family in car ––No use for commutting unless you are a emergency response official on call or you have a meeting the next day that is closer. ––No personal use of the vehicle except bathroom, gas, car wash, etc... ––No weekend use...vacation use....grocery store use, etc.... You can by policy make ONE stop, if such devaites no more than 15 minutes from your route, and such stop is less than five minutes.. Any violation....and the government rules state 30 days on the beach without pay. I know for a fact GSA OIG handles a crap load of these abuse issues and gets folks for 30 days all the time. Report it to their Hotline and they can nail the driver. I had a neighbor who showed up back at his house at 10 am every day with a USPS truck.....which sat there until 2 pm when he went and swaped out for his car. Not only was he home all day...but he had a postal truck with him. Postal OIG used my neighbors and my property for surveillance. He ended up fired. |

A guy I work with is really good friends with an ICE agent. His stories make me shake my head. |
