[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Probation Officer Interview

I have an interview for a Probation Officer position in Georgia next week. Just wondering if anyone had any words for wisdom that I can use to prepare for this interview. Any idea what will be asked? Thanks for the help.

State or Private? I was State for several years in Dublin Judicial Circuit. Look sharp and be on your game. The office has become more in line with LE at this time. Swings back and forth though. Good luck.

It's a state job outside of Atlanta. I think that they are interviewing about 10 people for the position so I am going to have to find a way to stand out other than I'm that Yankee from NY.

Good. I think it was a good gig. I just got tired of it. Pretty much impossible task. Just cover yourself with good documentation.

Which office? I work in one of the metro Atlanta offices for the Dept of Corrections. As was stated before the agency is now more LE oriented than rehabilitation. It changes with each commissioner.

Our jobs are very competitive right now and for each position open 50 or so people are interviewed. I have been at the job for a year and have already been promoted to a field officer position. I started this job with no experience at all, so that isn't a must.
