Do you think it will be a practical option in the law enforcement world? I like the ammo capacity of 14+1, I like the fact you can switch between the two tubes with a switch of a lever (slugs to buckshot). CONS: I dont like how close your hand is to the front of the barrel (maybe its just me) a foregrip would be a good fix for that. Cons: I might get my finger ripped off depressing the slide release.

Quoted: Do you think it will be a practical option in the law enforcement world? ... The very first place they announced/advertised this product was a LE magazine FWIW. IMHO, they are aiming this one squarely at the LE market (not that it won't see high demand in the HD market as well, of course). |

Im planning on being one of the first ones to get one. Im number 9 in line at my local shop in front of 8 ATF agents.
If i have to sell all of my other non-essential guns/one of my two kidneys to buy one i will. I really want one of these things. the concept, size, design, ect make it ideal for LE uses. |

There is no way on this earth that I would trust anything made by Keltec to protect me or anyone else. No, I have never owned one. Same reason you don't find Taurus products in duty holsters around the country. Yup. Given KelTec's well-established history of both blowing deadlines and utterly fucking up the first two or three iterations of anything they make in the rush to the market, I'm not going to buy one until at least the A4 version in about 2014. There is also no fucking way I would use one on duty, my 14" 870 works just fine. |

Utilizing good shotgun deployment and reloads make something like the KSG a not needed item. KelTec has a long history of failures, kabooms, QC issues, etc...in the original thread about the KSG, I posted that I wouldn't trust anything made by KelTec in my hands let alone that close to my face...I was quoted dozens of times over, the consensus was that since I myself have never had a massive failure that lead to injury, I was being ignorant and I shouldn't comment because I never owned one. |

IMHO, you are entitled to your opinion, based on personal experience or not and overly broad or not. I've owned a dozen or more KT products and never had any major problems, let alone a catastophic failure, so my confidence in their stuff is based on that. I have complete faith in my pocket/BUG (P3AT) for the role it is intended to fill, but I still wouldn't choose a current KT product for my primary weapon (handgun or long gun) and, given the "birthing pains" many of their products have had when first introduced, I can certainly understand some healthy skepticism over this innovative shotgun unless and until it proves itself IRL. |
| Seems like a decent idea....I would probably like it better if it were made by a company with a better reputation. The only drawback I see is loading looks like a pain in the ass, being that its all the way in the back, behind the center of gravity....maybe I'd actually have to handle one, it just seems akward, especially if it were still partially loaded and all front heavy. The other issue is 14+1 seems like a good idea, but in reality, that is ALOT more than is probably ever needed....and all those extra shells equal weight, which in a bullpup design, is alot of weight forward. I think it would be better as a bullpup with a single mag tube in a 7+1 configuration....then it would still be light enough and shorter than a 20" 870 7+1 setup. |

Can't hit the link at work but it sounds reminiscent of the S.A. Neostead shotgun that was a huge flop back in the late 80's or early 90's.
I do not care for the concept. To easy to mix up which barrel has slugs which has buck or god forbid the bean counters get involved and decide to save a few bucks so one has LL and one has slugs. Not to mention weight. Whats next? The rebirth of the crossbow (another theoretically brilliant solution that flopped. Over and under pump shotgun (tube) and mag fed 223 using ar mags (can't recal if the rifle was pump or semi though. It has been about 13 or 14 years since that one died) |

We run 14 870's outfitted by Wilson combat too. I won't be using anything other than for quite some time. |
