I have mine today and tomorrow and I am not looking forward to sitting in a conference room for 25 hours listening to people talk about advanced airways and PHTLS crap. I always hate going to these things...

That's why I just take the Registry test and pass it... No refresher for me. I had enough of class the first time.

If I red the regs right you still re required to take the refresher. You can opt to take the test and if you pass you dont have to come up with the 48 hours of continuing ed.

My employer won't pay for me to retake the NR test, but they will pay for the classes and time needed to recert.
I'd much rather take the test again and be done in less than an hour.

The worst part about this class is all of the lectures. Its all done by RN's, DR's and some medics and the stuff they talk about is way over my head. If it was geared more to what I do I think I would take home more...

Most of the refresher time is a waste..They are introducing new things in my area vs. maintenance of skills

Well the succubus known as EMT refresher is done for another two years. Thanks god.
At least today we got to learn about some cool shit. WMD's , crime scenes, excited delirium , etc...
