Friend and I were talking about rings and I thought it would be so cool if there were custom bullet wedding bands, yes made out of a 308 or something but nicely done.  Anyone see this or know who can make them?

Neat idea.

My knowledge about dressing up ammo ends with using a .50 cal shell as a vase for small flowers

I would think that the brass would not be very durable over the long haul.

I would take whatever caliber fits you best and go to a reputible jewler. I had my EXwifes custom made from a drawing to match her engagement ring. It was BAD ASS!

I'm thinking you are not going to want to wear brass for very long.

There are many places that can make jewelry from customer's designs.
You're a designer...and a damn good one...so design it and have a jeweler make it up.

I design things too.

Only I have the capability/skills/technology/equipment to engineer/reverse-engineer, and/or make virtually anything; albeit jewelry is outside of the bounds of my area of expertise.

An example of one of my little CAD projects:

Have fun...

Vanessa, you come up with some of the coolest damn ideas. LOL.

Here is one custom jewelry maker who might be able to help you out in your quest for a "bullet wedding band":

Custom Rings

Here is an image of a wedding band they designed for some dude that has an elk on it:

I am sure they could create you one, based on your own design, with just about anything on it you want. And you could probably go as expensive as you want (pure gold), to inexpensive (18kt gold over sterling silver).

Now, I just realized that you may have actually been talking about taking a piece of expended brass, melting that down and making a ring out of it. If that is the case, then I have no idea who might be able to do that. I am not even sure it would work, as brass tarnishes something awful over time and becomes highly unattractive. It also stinks.

Yea I know, can't wear brass or do it realistically but ! I have to think it would be cool.

Agreed 1000%...an extremely talented and intelligent individual.

Her avant-garde sense of style/ unique ideas/ eye for design & color/ and out-of-the-box thinking really kick ass.

Some awesome pieces there. If I didn't have a pair of Thundercats cufflinks that I never have an opportunity to wear I'd be all over those bad boys.

Aren't some casings steel instead of brass?

Cool!
Never seen anything like that before.

Okay...I'll play.
I was playing around during my lunchbreak.
My CAD systems definitely weren't designed with jewelry in mind.
I came up with something like this...sort-of a "Love and a .45" theme.
Theoretically you could place two heart-shaped diamond settings on either side and a round-cut diamond setting inside the hollow-point.
This ring design needs to be slimmer and more delicate as it is a little too heavy-looking, but the idea is there.
I think if the ring body was a little more delicate and it was made up in white-gold and diamonds...it would actually look pretty good...definitely unique...

Cheap steel that rusts at the first hint of moisture.
