Hi all-
I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. I *found* this site after seeing my husband on it for several years. Finally I decided to check it out for myself to findout what all the hubaloo was about. I realized it was really nice to not be to most conservative person on a forum so I decided to become a member.

After weeks of reading I think I have some of the protocol down.Since I am female my introduction is done in the Women Shooter forum and I realize that as long as I enjoy shooting and am breathing that some leg humping is to be expected.

I was a bit intimidated by all of you that enjoy shooting the larger caliber weapons h.gif but decided not to let that stop me from trying to join into the community.

A bit about myself-married 17 years, 3 kids, a nurse (hence the name), and have found in the last year that I really enjoy shooting......only I prefer a .22 LR to the AR my husband purchased for me a few years ago.

I didn't realize just how camera shy I am until I looked for a photo to post here. Well, here is one from the last time we went as a family to the range.

I'm sure the ladies will be along to welcome you in a few. I'd just like to say that it's great to have another Illinois member on the ARF.

Frankly, there is nothing wrong with 22LR for practicing.  I frequently use 22LR to work on the large caliber flinch and frankly it is a lot cheaper to shoot.

Welcome from a fellow female newbie!
I haven't even had a chance to shoot some of the bigger guns yet so don't feel bad. Just me and my .30-.30 right now. Fun as hell, isn't it?!
Most of the leg humpers hang out in GD so just have your anti-leg humper spray ready to deploy!
Again welcome to the safe haven from Conservative Woman Abuse!

Yay!  More wimmenz!!

Very pleased to meet you, ma'am.  Glad you found us, and welcome!  Don't at all be embarrassed about not shooting the big stuff yet.  Just look at it as something to look forward to in the future!  I'm sure that there's an arfcom group in your area that gets together and shoot, so don't be afraid to tell your hubby to take you to the next one!  I'm sure someone will have something fun for you to play with!

Edit:  I just realize how bad that last sentence sounds.  My apologies.  *ahem*

There was a couple of reasons I enjoyed shooting the 22lr more than the AR:
-I recently figured out that I am left eye dominant. I have always known that something was different about me becaue I cannot wink with my left eye or close my left eye and keep my right eye open. Somewhere on one of the shooting forums here there is a thread about this phenomenom that my husband found for me. I think that my starting to shoot the 22lr and the realization coincided completely by accident.

-I can shoot (these numbers are completely based on what my husband told me) a four inch group at fifty yards with the 22lr. My group with the AR needs a yard stick to measure.h.gif I am not bragging about my shooting skills. I realize it is just okay but getting a decent group and always hitting the target is part of the fun of shooting for me.

-Oh and not to be left out is the cheap factor. I love, love, love how much cheaper 22lr round are to purchase. Even though my husband saves his brass and reloads almost every caliber he shoots (I believe the 22 is the only exception) .....the 22 is still cheaper to shoot than anything else.  And that adds to the fun for me.

Welcome to the board.  It is always nice to meet new women their can always be more.  I have been telling a couple of friends about this place but have yet to see them hear.  I hope that you enjoy all of the great info hear.

Great job in spotting the leg humper issue.
