I would REALLY like to get a full night sleep.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  My daughter wakes up about every two hours (normally) to eat, but the last week or so she won't go back to sleep.  I am lucky if I get 4 hours of sleep a night (put together not all at once, that would be nice...)

Speaking of which, she is awake after her 15 min morning nap....

was there anything that has changed in your routine in the last week?  Small things can really screw with a babies internal clock.  Even something as simple as putting her to bed 15 minutes later...

Or, you could always try a swing.  Perfect for babies to sleep in and usually they'll just sit in them and be perfectly content even if they're awake.  Place your daughter in a swing after you feed her, even if she;s still awake it will make it easier for you to go back to sleep.

My son had a bad stomach and would not sleep unless he was on me.  After I figured that out we slept fine in between feedings.   We slept on the couch and I positioned him so if he rolled he would roll toward back of the couch instead of off the other side.

You could always give the kid a shot of nyquil.

We can't do the swing anymore because she will sit herself up and stop it and then try and play with the uprights...

I went back to work a few weeks ago (just for two weeks now I am back at home) but nothing changed until this last week

She is getting too big to sleep on the couch with without me worrying about her rolling/crawling off

Sorry, I'm not meaning to be argumentative

If this continues I am just going to have to by her a twin bed and sleep with her in that...

Are you feeding her solids? It sounds like she's not getting enough to eat. Usually they start sleeping better when they eat cereal.  If there is not anything wrong medically - ear ache, sore throat etc, you might just have to let her cry it out. It might take an hour, you would have to be strong and let her cry. She is so used to you coming in right away - yes spoiled.
At 7 months there is no reason she shouldn't be sleeping thru the night. Does she sleep alot during the day?

BTDT, it sucks, doesn't it.

The ladies have all given good suggestions.  Try giving her a big feeding right before bed- but not so much she'll have a tummy ache.

Make sure she's at a comfy temperature too- not too hot, not too cold.

She may also be teething (it's a nearly constant thing from about 4 months until their 2 year molars ), in which case I'd dose her up with either Tylenol or Motrin.

Hopefully it's just a quick quirky thing.  I have to say though- I haven't had a solid night's sleep in over 6 years.  Seriously.  Between the 3 kids, it's ALWAYS something or another.  I think I'm just used to it now, but sometimes it gets to me more than other nights.

Good luck!

Going on 8 years without a full night sleep (except when the wife takes the kids up to her parents without me).  All 5 of our boys started needing cereal around 5-6mo. for their last feeding before being put to bed.  It helped my wife and I get more than 3 consecutive hours of sleep.

If her urine seems to be extra pungent, her nose is running all the time, she's tugging at her ears, etc., then she's probably teething and will benefit from Tylenol, Motrin, and baby Oralgel.  Little Dominic is going through that now that he's growing better after his surgery.  4 teeth in one month with another one trying to poke through!

She doesn't sleep much at all during the day, She has been on at least some solids since she was about 4/5 months old and she eats about 6-8oz of food (between cereal and fruits and vegetables) during the day along with normal nursing.

She is probably teething, but she doesn't wake up upset, just awake and wants to eat.  She used to go right back to sleep but lately she doesn't seem to get comfortable.

Right now I would be in heaven if I could get four hours straight in my bed not with my head lolling back on the couch.

I was in a different situation with my son so I never went through this with him, but he was a very easy baby.

Maybe i could try the Tylenol thing...

easy!
send her to the grandparent's home.  that's what they're there for.
I'm sure they'd understand... we were all that age at one time, remember

Apparently, my family used to let babies chew/suck on the corner of a rag that had been dipped in brandy.

I don't recall if that was for teething, sleeping, or college prep.  :)

Talking with friends last night they were all about the thimble full of whisky or wine

I feel bad pushing her off on the grandparents when she isn't sleeping through the night, but maybe a Saturday afternoon with a hot shower and a long nap would do me good.

Those all natural teething tablets helped soothe my son even when he wasn't teething.

Sorry for your lack of sleep, surprised it's not mac's fault

I tried those last night and putting quiet music on for her

She slept for four hours last night (yeah!!!!) but I don't know if it was what I did or just exhaustion in her part (she slept maybe two hours during the day.)

I found that when my son wakes up now with his teeth hurting if I give him crushed ice it helps numb his gums enough to sleep the rest of the night.  Or a cold bottle seems to help too.

Well, try them again, hope they help!

If not, shave mac's face, put a wig on him and give him the chore

Does she act like she wants to know what is going on with everyone?  Babies especially girls have a tendency to be very nosey people try getting her an interactive musical devise that you can attach to the crib this will occupy her time after eating in the middle of the night.

My son did this to me when he was about that age and I decided to keep him up form naps during the day and playing a lot with him to make him more tired. This worked very well for a while then I had to start putting him in bed with me because he was still Breastfeeding.

If you try the Tylenol or Motrin you can alternate them every 4 hours or so this is best for them if they have a fever or are teething or after shots.  Has she been to the doctor recently for shots.  I think she might be teething this explains a lot of what you are dealing with.  My son was so hungry that he could not get enough food from nursing so I started him on solids at about 2 months.  He instantly started sleeping through the night.  Does she have her own room or does she sleep in yours????
