| Anyone have any fantastic slow cooker recipes? Especially for venison? |

How 'bout a venison stew? 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 lb venison roast cut into 1-inch cubes, trimmed seasoned salt and pepper 1 can beefy mushroom soup 1 can beef noodle soup 8 ounces fresh or canned mushroom pieces 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, optional 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce PREPARATION: Sprinkle venison with salt and pepper. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a skillet over high heat; sear venison on all sides. Combine venison with soups and mushrooms in crockpot. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and cook on LOW for 9 to 11 hours, or on HIGH for 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 hours. Tastes great served over rice |

Get a big beef roast. Some pepperoncini peppers Maybe an onion Some garlic (not much) A big pack of italian salad dressing mix Some more peppers (your choice) Dump on roast w/ enough water to cover the roast most of the way. Cook all day. Make 'italian beef' sandwiches. Not fancy, but good. |

Kudos to arowneragain for the Italian Beef idea. I put a 3 lb chuck roast in with a drained 16 oz jar of pepperoncini peppers and some zesty Italian dressing, set it on high for about 8 hours. Sheer heaven - those peppers marinated in beef fat RULE! Also, the other day I put a roasting chicken in with a can of drained crushed pineapple, about 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce, and some salsa. Very tasty as well - makes great sandwiches. |
