| Hey Ladies, well I have a blind date picking me up in 30 min. I am actually nervous. Which is unusual for me – I am normally a very confident woman. I met him through an Internet dating site…we have spent many hours on the phone and through e-mail. He seems perfect for me and it does not appear that he will take up a lot of my time. They just do not get that I like my space. Anyway, I am really into him and really nervous…plus I do not really know what he looks like. O.k. I have to go. Just needed a little “boost” from the ladies of ARFCOM.. |

He picked YOU UP? I'm glad that things went well, but I just wish that you would have taken more precautionary measures... IE Mace, Or Gun, Or Friend. Always be prepared for anything. My exGF started dating a guy from the internet. She PROMISED me that she would have one of her friends with when she met him... etc. Well, then I hear she was picked up by this guy, no friends, she left her mace at home, and is a petite girl with little common sense and suffers from Anne Frank syndrome (deep down, EVERYBODY is good at heart). Then she finds out this guy only wanted to meet random girls to F#$K (after their 'breakup' he told her this on the phone), he pressured her constantly for 3 dates. Then he got what he wanted, and left her high & dry. [V] Sometimes he still comes back around looking for piece, but I'm still incredibly disappointed with her handling of the situation. Not meeting in a public place, not meeting with a friend, not taking any defensive tool, and letting him into her apartment on the first night. I'm glad that things went very well for you Gypsy. I sincerely am!!! [beer] I just want to warn other women to be extra careful. I worry greatly for my female friends, and hate hearing about rapes over police scanners... It's a horrible thing, and it happens more often than the public knows. [V] My exGFs problem was that she built this guy up on a pedestal in her mind (as many women do), and she was devastated to find out he's only human, and not even a nice one at that... I hope things go well for you Gypsy!!! However, I disagree with Tiffany's statement. Quarter-decent men are difficult to find, half-decent is an anomaly, and perfection doesn't exist... I pity women who have to put up with the "stereotypical male". ENJOY YOUR NEW MAN! |

Matt, you are very sweet! I have been corresponding with him since 3.7. Through various conversations I learned we had similar acquaintances. A few good friends also knew where we were going and called during my time with him. Thanks for looking out for the ARFCOM ladies, little brother! |

Believe it or not, Helldog and I met in a chat room on AOL in 1995, I lived in Colorado at the time and he lived in NY. We never actually 'met' until 1998 when I started traveling to the east coast. I moved here in 2000 and the rest is history. So, good luck, perhaps you will be as lucky as I am and meet the bestest friend you ever had, and may he turn out to be a shooter!
