Hello members of the superior sex! (Ladies doesn't really cover all females-myself included and women sounded silly) I am on a mission. My boyfriend of 6 years finally got the lead out of his ass and proposed this past summer and i've had it in my head this past year that should he propose (and I not kill him before we get down the isle) I would buy him a Sig P226 Mark 25 as a wedding present. So I have joined arfcom in order to exploit knowledge from people since the man I would have gone to can't be in the know.i have the specs on the gun and I have a dealer. What I came to the site for is knowledge on engraving: the mk25 is anodized black can I engrave on it with out refinishing the whole thing? Could I just get different grips and engrave those? Should I engrave the case and leave the gun alone? -those are just a few questions I'm gonna get around to asking in the forums. Also I intend to beef up on my gun knowledge to better back up my position that he doesn't have to explain everything about guns: I get most of it. Anyway, I look forward to getting to know everyone as I cross off objectives. P.s. happy new year!

Welcome!  ( Mr Man here)  You might want to also post this in the Handgun Discussions forum and below that in the Sig forum, all to be found in the main Handgun forum. Tons of info and expertise here. Good luck!

Thank You. I intend to post in general and sig forums. With my "member" status I couldn't successfully find an engraving thread when I searched. So I will most likely post in general forums for that.

When I bought my son's graduation present, a Sig 220 I had to place small brass plates with engraving on each side of the frame.

The finish on the Sig was impossible to engrave.

Adhesive backing allowed them to be removed so it could be pressed into duty.

Congratulations and good luck.

You may be too inexperienced to tread the waters of General Discussion, no offence intended but GD can get out of control quickly. lol I agree that the Sig forum will get you the best results. good luck in you search.
