I`m watching the Doolittle Raid for the umpteenth time on the miltary channel and something stuck out. None of the raiders referred to Ted Lawson by name, not even the enlisted crewman from his aircraft," The Ruptured Duck". Was there bad blood over his book and movie,"Thirty Seconds over Tokyo"?

OP i don't know the answer to your question but
One of the things about the Doolittle Raid that I
find most cool is when the Hornet was steaming
out of SanFran Bay (in broad daylight??) with the
B25's on the flightdeck. As she went under the GoldenGate
Bridge, folks stopped in their cars, shutting down the bridge,
and got out of their cars and waved goodby.  I think that is
a beautiful moment, warriors going overseas to exact some
payback, and free citizens cheering them on and showing
their gratitude.  I wonder how the same event would go over
today?
