BIL who lived in Colo.recently passed away he was Curios and Relics guy with about 40 SKS's and about the same number of Mosin's. The widow wants nothing to do with them. The gun shops that apprasied his collection was going to SIHPAPP. I live in Texas and want to buy from her 4 or 5 rifles at a time and put them on the EE. No need to make a huge profit just need to move the rifles before they rust out.
Do I need to be dealer to handle that volume in one year? What about interstate transfers? HELP

By $50 for an SKS, I assume you mean that was the offer to buy them from her. The shop I consign guns with in the Denver/Aurora area charges 20% commission. That's about $50 on a $250 sale. An auctioneer would not charge much less ( 15% plus some setup and admin fees such that figuring close to 20% is my rule of thumb when I hire auctioneers for estate cases ).
Realize that that many SKS' are not going to sell quickly. While I would not be happy about a $50 offer, I can see how it would happen. She needs to try more shops in town. |
