I thought about selling ammo over the internet through like gunbroker or something. Is there a list or chart somewhere with what you could sell and where to. Also with the chart having where you have to have a license to buy ammo or whatever.
I dont want to sell something to somebody illegally as I dont want to be prosecuted. Any help would be nice as I dont wanna search every law of every state, county and city! |

I don't mean to belittle you however, if you don't know the answers to those questions already you don't need to be selling ammo on GB, unless you own it cheap or have some real specialty ammo. Prices have come down a lot over the past month and there are a lot of auctions that expire with no bids at all. Ammo is becomming more available now than in the past and the panic is subsiding. Be careful.... |

Be careful.... I know, I have noticed ammo becoming more available and the ammo industry is about to fall on its face. Now that everybody is supplied for years to come ammo is about to get real cheap! By the way I hope you all boycot cheaperthandirt.com for price gouging! I know I am! Well it was to get rid of a little surplus I have that I got cheap. |

I know now isnt the time to sell ammo, but lets just say I wanted to start a business in a coupla years to sell ammo. What are the legalities of such. Do I have to have a certain ammo license? Thanks No federal license is required for retail sale of ammunition. State and local are another issue. Manufacturing ammunition for sale requires a federal license. You have run into the reason a number of retailers do not sell ammunition in entire states. The states can sue in federal court if they believe you have broken their state laws, and you need an attorney to answer, big $$. You also need liability insurance, if only so someone will point the finger at the manufacturer when you are named in a lawsuit. |

I dontt have a chart but I do have an idea! Just check about 10 or so online ammo websites. Look at what states they will not ship to and follow those guuidelines. They have already done the research and paid the lawyers. I had the same ideas, but I have noticed some still ship to some I wouldnt. I just wanna know which states you have to have a license to buy ammo, which ones you cant buy certain types and what other restrictions there may be. |
