I saw a part for sale that says if you install it, you can fire your rifle one time when you pull the trigger and one time when you release it. Is that legal? It also has a letter with it that's supposed to show it is legal.
Anyone know what I'm talking about and if it's legal?  It looks like a heavy staple that fits in the trigger area somewhere.

Seems like it might be fun to play with, but I don't want to buy anything that would make my rifle illegal.

Wonder if i can convert one of my handguns into shooting on release only, seems like I could shoot just that much more accurately, i dont need a shot coming in and going out, but a release shooting gun, hmmm

I saw one of these devices many years ago at a gun show.  It came w/ the letter from the ATF saying it was legal.  It worked.

Trap shooters sometimes have their shotguns set up with release triggers.

Legal from what I've seen, although I have to question the safety of such a trigger.
