Where (online) can I find the rules on what the legal configuration of an AR-15 I may own. Flash suppressor vs muzzle brake? Bayonet lug? Collapsible stock vs fixed? Ect. I would liek to save some $ by buy direct and have it sent to a FFL dealer. I just want to make sure what configurations and options I order are compliant with New York law. I hate New York for this. Thank you. |
In short, new guns must be the same as the ones available during the federal assault weapons ban. For example, I am a grad student in NY state. Before I can bring my bushmaster (that I modified after the ban expired) to my apartment in Amherst from my home in WI, I have to put it back to ban configuration (no collapsing stock, bayo lug, or fs). ![]() That being said, my ar will stay at home. I'd build a precision AR without those features before buying/restoring my gun to the ban status. ish. |
| New York State Consolidated Laws, Penal Law, Article 265. See specifically, paragraph number 22. |

Sooooo hard to comprehend the mentality of folks who'd install NY's gun laws, etc., and send people like Hillary and Chucky to represent them in the U.S. Congress. Of course, if we all were the same kind of people, the North wouldn't have lost that little skirmish back in the 1860s! |
