hasn't an Attorney gathered up victims of violent crimes and filed a class action lawsuit against the City of New York for not allowing it's citizens to properly defend themselves? Protect me 24/7 or allow me to protect myself. |
| The problem with a case of this type is people have already tried to sue the Transit Police for not providing more enforcement to known high crime areas. There is as least one case I'm aware of where one of the lower Manahattan 'J' train stations was known for much higher than normal criminal activity. A woman was assaulted and raped and filed suit charging that the Transit Police knew the station was a hot bed of criminal activity and should have provided more protection. She lost the case because the court found that no single private citizen is specifically entitled to police protection. |
