| Can a resident of Flordia purchase a rifle in Arkansas from a dealer?? |
| Florida residents can only purchase rifles and shotguns from dealers in contiguous states (Alabama and Georgia). Although the Federal contiguous state provision was repealled a long time ago, both Florida and Arkansas still have their contiguous state laws on the books. |
| well the reason I ask is because I saw a sign posted in Walmart here in Arkansas that said the following states can purchase firearms in Arkansas and FL and 10 other states were listed as not being able to, but there was some states that were not contiguous with Arkansas that were allowed to. |

Allright I found this FL state statute 790.28 Purchase of rifles and shotguns in contiguous states.--A resident of this state may purchase a rifle or shotgun in any state contiguous to this state if he or she conforms to applicable laws and regulations of the United States, of the state where the purchase is made, and of this state. History.--s. 1, ch. 79-44; s. 1219, ch. 97-102. But it doesnt say you CANT purchase rifles and shotguns in non-contiguous states, it just says your allowed to purcase in contiguous states. |
