I know, it sucks that we can't have our foriegn dream rifles(/pistols?). Unless we luckily find one already in the US, or they are reproduced here.

Out of curiousity, what would you want that is not available? I can only think of the SIG 550 rifle.

Fortunately, we can buy an Uzi (Vector carbine), G3 (HK91 clone), V93 (HK93 clone), BW-5FS (HK94 clone), Galil AR (ORF receiver), AK (SEAK), and FAL (Imbel receiver). At least the major weapon types are available.

Depends on the maker. Lots of people will tell you a CETME is better than the H&K original.

No comparison in my book, so I've gotta call you out on that one. Name one person who owns both who says that. H&K is only matched by H&K.

It sort of will...

It will become legal to import 'evil' rifle kits, install US parts, and they will be legal in all their 'evil' glory....

If it has no more than 10 imported major parts, it's a US Made gun and not subject to the import ban...

Aparently HKusp thinks a Speshul Weapuns (aka Bobcat) SW-5 is a good substitute for a HK94, and that a CAI G3 is a good approximation of a HK91...

ORF's products would be better examples...

That's his point...

Oh, and HK was matched by a few others that were given contract licenses to produce their guns...

Pre-89 ban, Springfield Armory imported a bunch of them from Greece...

FMP is another such company...
