In CT, one must issue an affidavit to go along with a application to possess an "assault weapon", if one does not have a sales receipt or state firearms form issued at the time of sale. The affidavit must simply state that one bough the item in question in compliance with state and federal law, and before the date of the AWB was signed into law.
An affidavit must be issued under oath, as in a sworn statement, correct? That being the case, who administers the oath? Justice of the Peace? That is my guess. Then one has to get the statement notarized - I assume the JP can also do that - ? |
