Could someone please explain to me about importation laws?  Are there any restrictions on the importation of large capacity feeding devices, such as vintage WWI and WWII cloth machinegun belts?  I know we can't import U.S. stuff.  What about foreign made?  If importable, do you need to fill out the form 6 or other forms?  Thanks much

P.S. Finding specific information on ATF web site is like pulling hen's teeth!!

Importing firearms, firearms parts and magazines always requires an ATF Form 6.

Under $100 can be done on an occasional basis by any FFL without a specific import license.

Anything over $100 requires an importer FFL license (Type 08).

If you don't have an FFL of some sort, you can't import on Form 6, and you can't import anything regularly or in values over $100 without a Type 08 FFL.

Large cap feeding devices further require either documentary proof of several kinds (held by a foreign government, held by a foreign arms dealer, etc) or physical markings on the large cap feeding devices that they were made before 9/13/94.  It's supposedly a real pain to get large cap feeding devices approved for import, even with all the documentary proof.

Machinegun belts are considered large-cap feeding devices.
