I only see genuine Eotech on his website.

Marsh does sell Aimpoint knockoffs. I have one and I have no complaints at least for a range toy.

I am unaware of any Primary Arms EOThingy-styled sights.

ETA - I do have a MicroDot G2 on my Buckmark, and it is absolutely PERFECT for the price point.

They had one a a couple of days ago that had four reticle patterns, but I may have looked at it wrong. I have a real eotech and I like it. This one is for my sons AR, and I might go with the aimclone if it's really solid. Just thought I'd check you guys out about the other low cost optics he offers. Thanks.

Does anyone know of anyone that offers an Eotech clone that is good. I know it won't be a holographic sight, but just a red dot, but I like the how open the sight is. I would also like to know if anyone trusts their aimclone from Primary Arms for home defense.

All the clones are crap by comparison. Might as well get a BSA red dot.

The Eo is the real deal. There is more to it than simply projecting a red image on glass. The science behind it works properly. Also, remember the Eo has a 1 MOA dot. Good luck getting that accuracy with clones.

Funny you post this.

I asked Marshall at Primary arms and he said he looked into one but it was a No go.

I have been seriously wanting to try one of these for shits and giggles.

O.K. I'm fully aware of the technology that goes into it. I have had five of them. 1: 511, 3:512s, and 1 552xr308. I sold my DPMS LR 308 and the 552 with it. I have a new 6.8 build that I need to equip. I took the Eotech 512 off of my son's 5.56 AR since he doesn't shoot very often, and put it on mine. Since he soesn't shoot it that much, I thought I could save some cash and go with a clone of some sort. He likes the Eotech, but I just doesn't have the cash for one right now, and I want to get something on his gun that won't be a piece of shit, and a total waste of money. It's not going to the sandbox or anything, just be reliable enough for a range gun, or if the need arises, home defense.

Anyone have recommendations on the aimpoint clones from Primary ?

Just go to ebay and buy the cheapest one, they are all the same IPR rip-off's...so who cares about the rest, right?

Then go to some airsoft site and by a cloned Larure mount, you should be all set.

Search around on this site. Many people including myself have had great luck with them.

If you read in the industry forum there's a ton of feedback on these, basically all good.  I picked one up for my hobby gun, as I can't justify 7x the cost for real.  Once I have enough range time on it it could be my go to gun for HD.  Mine appears to be very quality, no complaints.  I hate the idea of non-American products, but this is a quality Chinese product based on a Swedish one, so the US isn't losing out so much.

i beg to differ.
i had eotech go bad on me, outside of the waranty, and they replaced it with a new one.
that has won me over from buying an aimpoint for my future non magnified optic purchases

I've never had a bad Eotech. Maybe I'm special or something, I don't know. I was just hoping to find something with as open a window as the Eotech. A used Eotech would be better if the price was right, or even(dare I say it?), and Aimpoint. I actually like the aimpoint and know that it's a good optic, I just like the Eotech better. I have considered buying a Kobra. I've had two of those and they were great, Easy to zero, held zero well, robust as all get out, (I dropped one on an ak on the sidewalk from the back of a pickup and it was still zeroed), and elevation and windage adjustments in the field are a snap. There was a model offered that would co-witness with the irons on a flat-top ar. I had one that was made for a rail that I had on a shotgun. I like the different reticle patterns, my favorite being the chevron/dot. The sight is quick since it's an open type, and the dot is just over 1 moa ( 1.2 or 1.5 if I remember correctly). I may look into that. Plus it's not Chinese.

I had the aimclone on my rifle when I first got it.  It worked great for a range gun.  It held zero just fine, but granted I was very careful with my rifle.  I have since switched to a REAL aimpoint, which is a hellva a lot nicer.  It just feels more rugged.  That being said, if I was looking to save some cash and just have an optic for plinking at the range, I would have no problem with the aimclone.  It serves its function well.

They did the same thing with my 5 year old 511.  Replaced it with a BRAND NEW ONE, no questions asked, and paid for shipping both ways.  They will always have my business.

Yeah, I have no idea why anyone would say EOtech's customer service is bad.  I managed to ding up the clamp on mine, and they sent me 2, free, without any questions.  Great customer service!  Also, I have one of Primary Arms M4 clones, and it's been great.  Marshal is great to do business with - my original order got lost in the mail, so he sent me a replacement sight and threw in a free pmag.  Good guy - will definitely buy from him again.   I've also heard great things about the Vortex Strike fire (which he also sells).  Shoot him an email - he'll promptly answer any questions you may have...

The clones I seen at gunshows were 1/2 the price of a used Eotech and looked OK.

BUT, they are rear projection holographic sights made in China junk. Way overpriced for what you get.

With a rear projection holographic sight, you can see the red led when you look at it from the muzzle. This can give your position away.

Get the Eotech and be done with it. You can get a new 512 for ~$344 shipped if you shop around.
