So, how many of you post a reply (or even a new subject) meaning to inspire comments or questions yet never go back and to further explain yourself or answer questions others might have raised? Sorta like joining a conversation, making a simple statement and walking away without bothering to see what others have to say or responding to their questions.
Accordingly, does this bother you when others do it?

I'm sure I have done it.  There is times when a thread just goes so far south that I unsubscribe to it and never look back.

It doesn't bother me if/when someone else does it.

I know I've done it and forgotten it only to later see it in my subscriptions.

If someone has a good response I might dignify it, but if it goes down hill with people berating me for something stupid, I just let it be.

I usually forget to subscribe. Most of the time though I will see the topic again and check back on it. But sometimes I don't see it and it's lost in the ether. It doesn't really annoy me when others do it, it does annoy me that I do it. In this case I'm not particularly interested in replies, just felt like adding my two cents. May or may not check back later.

In really heated discussions, I will post my one and only thought on the subject, then walk away. I wait a day or two, then go back and read all the replies.

I do this because I have a big mouth, and am easily drawn into flame wars. Just am.

Doing it this way, it's too late to reply to anyone, and I've had my say. I can let it sit.

Not like i'm going to keep checking a thread for a reply to a post i made in a thred all day long.   I will check on it but not hit refresh for over an hour , or something.

I seriously considered doing just that because, well, because I am somewhat of a prick and I think it would have been funny. Unfortunately I am really interested in how people feel about it. I have posted, forgot about it and came back later only to see someone was actually interested in my opinion or asked me something and I never responded. It has left me feeling a bit guilty (for ignoring them) but it has been unintentional. I was wondering how others felt about this and wanted to see if it really bothers anyone or is something we all do.
