| We got on this topic at work, and I told them I buy Danner socks at 15 dollars a pair. I told them can't put a price on socks and boots. They told me I was crazy. Crazy maybe but my feet sure feel good. |

Crazy maybe but my feet sure feel good. If you're in/near Portland, you can get them cheaper at the Danner factory store. All the socks I've bought in the last few years have been either Danner or Smartwool - completely worth the extra money over cheapies, IMO. |

Quoted: I never had that problem.i might get 5 uses out of a pair of socks, steel toes eat holes in em, no use buying anything but the cheapest walmart has. Where are they wearing out? Toenails rubbing through? Or is it just because they're less flexible and the toe-box is too small? (The worst experience I ever had with steel-toed was when I was brushing a horse. He was getting antsy, and stomping his rear hooves. Stomped at the very rear of the steel, bent it down so tight I had to get someone else to cut the boot off so I could get my lil toes out. If he'd have hit a 1/2 inch further back he'd have smashed my footbones to mush.) |
