You are standing in a bank, you are carrying a pistol. The guy in front of you is acting very strange, you see him hand the teller a note, you can obvisly tell by the look on her face she is very nervous. She hands the man a large amount of money, you back up to the door when she screems "He just robbed me."

He turns around, you are now face to face with him, he does not appear to have a weapon but one hand is in his pocket.

Let him walk?

If I see a weapon, he's done. Until then, I'm a darn good witness.

Lemme see...

He's leaving.
He has no visible weapon.

Why WOULD you draw down?

He is not a visible threat...you are not an LEO...you are asking for trouble.

(Doesn't mean I wouldn't have my hand on/near a firearm if I had one in case the situation changed).

Is the possibility of getting shot over the bank's money worth enough to see your name in the paper with "local man stops bank robber"?

Let him walk, watch where he goes, plate of car, direction, etc.....

I'd do a front roll to the nearest cover while pulling my CCW permit holder badge with my weak hand and my concealed Kimber Special Forces limited edition CCW piece out of my carbon fiber tactical thong waistband with my strong hand.

Or taking two rounds center mass (from behind) by the security guard that didn't know who to shoot...and shot at the first person he saw with a gun?

Said best in Heat - its not your money- its the banks money. Your money is guaranteed by the Feds so dont be a hero.

If the scenario is as described I'd let him walk.

However, of the scenario was amended with he fired a shot, talked about a potnetial hostage, or started muttering that he wasnt going to leave witnesses then all bets are off.

The difference between a Hero and a Zero is the amount of intel you gather on the guy when he's getting in his car so the cops can find him.

Now if he pulls a gun or mutters something about shooting someone, then yeah he's dead duck.  Otherwise, the reference to Heat applies.
