I have those exact loads and have shot them out of a Marlin Guide Gun.  They are my anti-griz bullets when out in the Alaskan woods.  Anyways, they are actually not that bad when shot from a standing position which allows your body to absorb the recoil.  The recoil looks bad from a bystanders position as it rolls your whole upper body backwards, but does not feel all that bad.  That being said they are no powder-puff loads and you better have a good stance and the butt of the rifle properly positioned in your shoulder or you will regret it.

The recoil is not that sharp opposed to some of the faster .45-70 loads (ie. over 1800fps).  Do NOT shoot them from the bench though unless you want a severe shoulder bruise.  I made that mistake only once

Ok, shot it yesterday...and yes it kicks like a mule, but not super painful.  Very accurate, sorry no pics, but I'm going shooting again this weekend.  I'll get some pics then, since a buddy is tagging along.

I really need to learn to reload, it's been on my list of things to do for a long time.  I think I'll try to find someone to teach me very soon now.

OMG...I shot a regular 45-70. Once.
I had an NEF handi-rifle with a synthetic stock in .45-70, and the first time I took it to the range, fired 3 boxes of ammo through it. By the next trip to the range, I had traded it toward a replica 1874 Sharps that weighed-in at 13lbs. Man, what a difference a few pounds makes; .45-70 was a pipsqueak in that rifle.

PMC used to make a +P+ 45-70.  They discontinued it.  I fired 10 rounds of it in my Marlin Guide gun.  OMFG.  I have never shot something that kicked harder. I was pissed when I went to order more and could not find it anywhere.

Get a Rockchucker kit from RCBS. SIngle stage is simple, book shows you all the steps and it has everything you need except powder and primers. Its a great setup that you can learn with confidence. WJ

My buddy has a load in the 45/70 that pushes a 405gr bullet to 2250 or there abouts

Shoots it from a H&R Single Shot - the long barreled one

not really excessive on the recoil - it does thump no doubt about that but not terrible painful

And I thought 500 gr. handloads were a bit rough...
