Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: IMHO Saiga = tits on a boar She is hot though whats wrong with a saiga 12? I dont have one but am thinking about it for a HD shotgun. Not that they're a bad gun fun for shooting but IMHO they aren't very practical for HD. A good semi auto or a pump can used easier strong or weak hand. Shells on speed strips or even loose take up less space than magazines. So... you wear your tactical speed reloadin' shell caddies around the house, to bed and all that? I'd rather grab two mags off the nightstand. Guess that's just me. ![]() |

You should be running a magazine fed shotgun because its a lot faster. I snap another mag in and I have up to 12 more shells in the ammount of time it takes you to find and load one. |

saiga 12 mags can apparently deform the top shell against the mag feed lips. i'll stick with a pump for HD. uh no, Its the top round pressing aganst the bolt that deforms the shell and its not enough to cause a falure to feed. If your worried about it just leave the mag out, or use a all brass/steel case for the top round. |

My HD 870 with a tube extension is 8+1 and thats it. Receiver caddie is loaded with 6 00 for a reload if the encounter gets that far. So where would you keep the spare mags, in your underwear or tuck into your PJs? ![]() |

Shells on speed strips or even loose take up less space than magazines. Your theory is flawed. In the time it takes you to push one round into a traditional shotgun you can load ten into a Saiga. The Saiga handles as easily as a regular shotgun and can be used weak hand, just as easily as firing a rifle weak hand. Using your thinking, then why have rifles that use magazines when I can carry a bunch of stripper clips or loose rounds in my pocket? |

Otherwise I could grab a couple mags with the other hand. Are you defending the Kandahar FOB with your AR? Otherwise, I'm sure you don't have any need for 30rd mags right? The whole capacity issue is obviously over exaggerated... which is why wheel guns and 7+1 1911s are still the most popular service and CCW weapons today. |
