This is my first NRA Convention that I'm going to. I've been a NRA for the last ten years. Two of my friends wish to come. Can they come if they're not NRA Members? Is there a entrance fee? Sadly the NRA Website doesn't give any damn info on these question.
How do I register for the convention? |

Everybody is welcome. After all, they want non-members to come so they can recruit them and try to persuade them to be members!
It's like a huge gun show, except you can't buy guns. (You can buy other stuff, though –– all kinds of shooting and hunting accessories.) You can buy your passes in advance, online. Or you can buy tickets at the door, but you'll have to wait in some long lines, so pay in advance. When you get there, there will be one set of lines to pick up your tickets, and another set of lines for those who have not prepaid. Save time; prepay online. |

Well, on the NRA website they don't have a "Registration" link. No info on how to buy tickets or prices. |

The NRA Annual Meeting is a meeting of members. The entrance is free to all members––but you must be a member. If you're not a member, you can join there. You can join as an Associate Member for $10.
They also let in Police, Fire, EMS, Military, and civic organizations like the Boy Scouts in for free, with or without memberships. ETA: No registration is required. Bring your membership card or address panel from your magazine. If you can't find any of that, they can look up your membership information on the computers. ETA2: This is all assuming you're talking about the exhibit floor. If you want to attend other events, like the banquet or the prayer breakfast, you will need separate tickets. |

I have always registered online for hotel, banquets, seminars, voting credentials, etc. Just to walk the toy show, you don't need to pre-register. It's just that I have never gone just to walk the show. |

get the motel room now unless you are in charlotte. first one I went to was in Louisville, Ky.....stayed at the Brown w/ a discount.......it was a blast I heard someone say there was a NASCAR convention next door during the same weekend... so yeah, guys, get your hotel rooms early. ![]() ETA: I can't find anything about that now, so maybe I feel for a bad joke? |

Went to the one in Louisville. I was a member, my dad was not. He had to sign up to get in––but it was cheap. Plus, it's worth it––some of the best people (kindest, most knowledgable, etc) are there, so it's a great recruitment effort.
I second the motion to carry a backpack for all the stuff. |

Not a joke, only it isn't a convention –– it's the grand opening of the brand-spanking-new NASCAR Museum. http://www.nascarhall.com/ I'm probably the only guy in the Deep South who couldn't care less about NASCAR but yeah, I'd book a room early (like NOW) if planning to go (I already made my reservations, FWIW). |
