Tonight's dinner actually started last night with injecting the brisket with a home made garlic pepper brine.
Then went in the smoker about 11am, and a little over 7 hours later it was done.

Hey, it was either that, or a paper plate.

Beans? Where is the chili? Looks just fine but that is the child's plate. No way those little bitty portions of smoked meat goodness is enough for a grown man with big brass balls hanging to his knees. 10 from me. (if that is the just the appetizer). WJ

I actually do not own a kitchen table.
Somehow the money I plan on using to buy a table with keeps turning into stuff other than a kitchen table.

For example I have no idea how a PSL got ordered in my name a couple days ago, and I suspect the same thing will happen next week for some rear sights.

As far as the beans, well that was just a fail on my part, they did come from a can and my attempt at altering them did not go as planed.
The "other stuff" is potato salad, it is ugly but tasty.

The portions on that plate may have looked small, but I never said I did not go back for more.

Excellent.

No reload.

Hit Craigslist for a table.

Started out awesome. Preps looked good but then the presentation. Who you serving that to an 8 yr old girl?

You didn't cut that brisket across the grain did you? Shame shame shame

No offense, are you sure that's even brisket? I'm not talking about your prep, I'm talking about the raw meat. It's a pretty poor excuse for a brisket.

Next time cut ts accross the the grain and it will be more tender.....

No argument there, it's not the best brisket but it is a brisket none the less.
Normally I get them from a butchers shop out here and they run about $35, but this was a walmart brisket for $17 so I had a massive adrenaline dump, bladed at 45 degrees and shouted "you will not touch my brisket!" as I put it in my shopping cart.

And it was cut properly, it just looks off because of the odd shape.

That brisquet looks excellent. Great dinner pic but...9/10.  You have plenty of protein there but you really need to shove down some veggies too...

Cool for owning up on the fact that was not a properly butchered brisket (Walmart). The point end has another muscle on it which is not part of the brisket. That is not your fault but keep this in mind the next time you purchase a "BRISKET". You should have gathered by now I know my shit so why tell me you cut it correctly? Hate to call you out in your thread but you did invite input. The pieces of meat on your plate where cut with the grain. Brisket should be cut across the grain, just saying

I'm not even going to get into the poor placement of the silverware and firearms.

Well, I will place blame on walmart then for the improper cut.

I had always been told to lay the brisket length ways from left to right and cut top to bottom, and that's exactly what I did.

And with as rarely as I actually see brisket, or  "brisket" outside of a butcher's shop in this part of Florida, there will be few more if any  walmart purchases.
