I'm about to hand in my badge and head home; joining the ranks of the unemployed. |

CA is laying off LEOs too? Is this very prevalent? I haven't heard of a single officer being layed off in TN, any where.... My door badge. I'm an engineer. Ah, got ya. Thanks for the clarification. we use HSPD-12's here. FEDGOV issued photo ID that's totally worthless. 30cal: as a victim of many layoffs, I feel for you. File for unemployment now; you'll get your waiting week out of the way today. |

i'll be joining you next week.
i took a fifteen percent pay cut towards the middle part of last year in lieu of a decent severance package. i talked it over with my fellow workers and decided to stay. i cherished my tenure and felt that i'd be leaving people that i had mutual respect for. at the start of this year, i was offered another ten percent reduction or a severance package that is half of what i was initially offered. that was the straw. i think life is telling myself to see a prior service recruiter and go back home. |

Quoted: Sorry to hear that man. Been there. Any prospects? I'm not sure what kind of engineering you do, exactly. I've been doing reliability analysis, root cause investigations and corrective actions for aircraft displays. The gig I have lined up is nuclear mechanical (submarine fleet support). The now-former company had openings in Oregon, but it's the wrong direction. We're headed back east, closer to family while the kids are still young and the grandparents are healthy. Provided that the clearance comes through before the money runs out, it ought to work out nicely for us. |

Being with family is so much more important, especially in times like these.
