When you are writing your message..  Look down at the insert tags buttons and its the 2nd one from the right

It's okay...you're new

there's a icon when you post a message that says " hyperlink". It's the second icon from the right.

It will ask you to post the link in a separate window, then will ask you what you want the link to read when people view your post.

you can also type  [ur l] then immediately add your link then follow it with [/ur l]  ( close up the space between the r and l  in each set of bracketed letters, I had to space them for illustration here)

Ok cool I got it figured out now. I had a pop up blocker or something blocking it at first.
