I know that we have a lot of http://www.monoprice.com/ fans here - and I am one of them. I've been buying from monoprice since before I ever even heard of ARFcom. Great products, great prices. About six months ago, I bought two HDMI distribution amps (splitters) for one of my showrooms. We had a power outage and after the outage, both units were more or less dead. The four-port unit was completely dead and the eight-port unit only passed a signal through two ports. I requested an RMA. Both units were under warranty, but I didn't really consider the failure a defect. I wondered if monoprice would honor the warranty in this case. I had never requested an RMA from monoprice for any reason prior to this. To my pleasant surprise, monoprice offered to replace both units without question. I returned the failed units - and the replacement units (same exact model) are out of stock. monoprice offered a credit for the original purchase price - and I can buy a pair of splitters (different model) for less, leaving me with "free money" to spend at monoprice. During the RMA conversation, I did state that I would be happy with the in-stock splitters in exchange but monoprice insisted on giving me the full credit. For a place that's renowned for low prices, I didn't expect such awesome customer service. To say that I am pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Yeah, I know. Cool story, bro. |
