I need the help of those who build computers. I have a T 5 lighting system over my reef aquarium and it uses a 60 mm fan to cool the ballasts. It has a 12 volt adapter that powers it. The thing is starting to whine and I think it is on its way out. Can I just buy a fan off Ebay to replace it with? I mean, would a two pin connector type computer fan splice in and run? The adapter says 12 volts at 200 mAmps. Any body got an idea here. I can get a fan off ebay for $5 where as a replacement from Current is $40. |

Quoted: Yes, computer fans run on 12vdc and should work with no problem. The third connection on many computer fans is the speed sensor which can be ignored in your application. People never believe me when I tell them all the knowledge on arfcom. This just cleared up another question I had. Thanks. |
