All aboard the failboat!

"This hungry fox ended up a victim of the sub-zero temperatures when it chased a duck across an ice-covered lake - and froze to death. The scene was captured by photographer Tim Woodcock, at Ashlett Mill Pond, near Southampton, Hants"

PETA is going to be upset that the photographer didn't jump into the lake and get hypothermia to save the poor fox.

If the greenies see this they'll have a cow!

A cute little fox chasing the ugly duckling- another victim of global warming.....- ermmm, cooling.

It is kind of sad looking at it.

But imagine what the duck is thinking haha.

That's what you call....

bad timing.

Can't blame the fox for following the duck; and understanding frozen (but very thin) ice versus "the duck is on it, I should follow him" mentality might be beyond the Fox's comprehension.   Overall, the duck is luck, the Fox is unlucky (and dead).   Bummer, life is often cruel and the photographer will probably commit suicide years later after witnessing such a tragic accident without intervening.

Usually when Firefox freezes up, I just hit up task manager to kill the process.  See if that helps with your problem, OP.

The picture is priceless.  It'd be one thing if it was just the fox frozen in the lake well after the incident but it's a whole other level of win with the duck coming back to the scene of the crime to gloat.
