I purchased a HP notebook in late June.  Missed the free upgrade by a week.

The machine was loaded with Vista sp1.  Lots of software issues, blue screen, countless calls to HP and Costco help.(great people)  Sp 2 took care of most.

This weekend I upgraded from Vista Home Premuim 64 bit to 7 Professional 64 bit.  Overall it took about 6-8 hours including downloading the program, backing up everything and installing the program.

I am not impressed.  It really does not seem to offer any additional bells and whistles.....just a few smoother features.  I have MS works 2007 so not having outlook isn't an issue.  Not looking forward to well known issues with itunes.

The god mode tip given on this forum is kinda nice.  Overall it just feels like vista sp3.  Anyone else agree?

Anyone thinking of upgrading from home basic vista or home premium vista to 7 business may run into some trouble.  PM me for an easy fix.

it would have been nice if Windows 7 included some ballistic software.
